Fancy Dancer

You looked so pretty with your high heels on
And your orange dress
The place was full but there was no need
I’ll just pass on the rest

And so it appeared that my thoughts were shared with
More and one
Some tact was required so a plan was conceived
Cos there wasnae long

Now maybe the drink had rearranged the words
As they sounded strange
She seemed to notice what was going
But with no complaints

It was at that moment that the record changed
And on came my song
Part two of the plan had commenced too late
We’d been moved along

Then when we left she was holding on tight to my hand
Something had started that night. Was this part of the plan?
‘Come, let’s go dancing.’ She whispered then took me aside
Before I could speak, the floor we had reached
The dancing was fancy but precision’s not on her side
Precision’s not on her side
Precision’s not on her side

Two steps, come forward
Back and forth, now repeat
She kept stepping on my
She kept stepping on my

She kept stepping on my feet!

Tam the Drunk

I pass her in the street each day, it’s always in the same place
Give or take a yard or two, whatever its all the same
Standing on the platform at the spot the doors open
Waiting for the Bedford if its late the St Albans

It used to be on Fridays that I’d take a drink or two
But now it’s moved to Thursdays, well, there’s no much else to do
Tam he takes his spot you’re sure to find him there each day
I’ve got a wee proposal that I’d like to put his way

He looks comfy in the corner
With his pint it paints a picture
And the string around his waste
Doubles up its no disgrace, it’s a hanger

In the morning he comes knocking
For some money a small token
But the meter, yeah the meters never running
Only whisky that he’s feeding

Tam the drunk is it really such a shame
His office is the local. Would’nae complain
Tam the drunk is it really such a shame
His office is the local. Would’nae complain

Do I need any references?
Can you take me on my word?
There’s room for two if you just budge up
I’ll get them in, think I’m going to like this job

He looks comfy in the corner
With his pint it paints a picture
But the hair upon his face
Accumulated all the space a canny see ye

What’s that that you’re saying
Stop all that mumbling
Its time to re-evaluate the situation
Think I’m gonna hand my notice in

Tam the drunk is it really such a shame
His office is the local. Would’nae complain
Tam the drunk is it really such a shame
His office is the local. Would’nae complain

Do I need any references?
Can you take me on my word?
There’s room for two if you just budge up
I’ll get them in, think I’m going to like this job

Don’t let him in – is that a tea that you’re making?
Don’t let him in – its 50p that I’m needing
Don’t let him in – but my back, it’s hurting!
Don’t let him in, don’t let him in!

Iodine & Umbrellas

Come take a seat, oh come and take a seat
Wont you please take them off, please take them off
But when will we know, when will we know?
Oh you’ll know in due course

But your hands are very cold, oh so very cold
And this room is very bright, way to fuckin’ bright
And I can see the sweat has started I can feel the sweat has started Running, running off of

But oh I can’t complain, oh no I can’t complain
If I was in her shoes I would do the same
But she’s looking at me weird and your actually quiet nice
And oh the repercussions it was only for a night
But oh I can’t complain, oh no I can’t complain
If I was in her shoes then I would do the same
But I’ve got a funny feeling, this room in which I’m sitting
Is secretly enjoying this misery it’s seeing and I

The repercussions from a night
Stay away from Geraldine
Be sure to wrap up nice and tight
Should you dare to go between
In the morning when it comes
You’ve forgotten all the fun
Take a trip down to the clinic
Look here comes the iodine
Next time you’ll know better
Stay away from Geraldine

But she took my hand assured me it would all be ok
Frozen at the thought of what’s about to come my way
Although the door appeared not to be too far
Perhaps I’ll leg it when she turn her back, straight to the car
One problem were the jeans around my feet
Sent me crashing to the floor must have been a sight to see
Oh just take it like a man is what she said
With that iodine and that umbrella sat on the bed

Next time I’ll know better
Stay away from Geraldine

Hot Head 'n' Heels

Was it something that I mentioned or something that I said?
Was it something I insinuated that made her see red?

And there was an indication when she turned around and
And there was an indication when she dropped the bag and
And there was an indication when she threw the punch and
And there was an indication when she slammed the door and screamed

It was looking so easy, yeah, looking so easy
It was looking so easy, yeah, looking so easy
Is there nothing else I can try?

Seemingly it was the first time one had ventured near
Realistically the last time. Oh, that look of fear!

Jesse James

He saddled his horse and hit the track
The Unions had struck no turning back
And the railroad suffered from their plight
As did the banks to the gangs delight
Left carnage in their wake as on they fought

Many said he was the saviour of the south
A highway man that spread the wealth all around

As the shot rang out across the land
And the bullet hit him hard and fast
Old Jessie had his face turned to the wall
With ten thousand dollars on your head
Then some day your going to wind up dead
Its always good to know your friend from your foe
Oh from your foe

Is it true James perished on that night
Some say it wasn’t so
He’d never turn his back without
His pistols on full show

If indeed Ford slayed the outlaw
Was not a fitting way to go
For Jessie James the highway man
But I guess we’ll never know

Cocaine & Guinness

You come to me with your ramblings
Words are messing with my head
Looking all distorted
But happy none the less
And I think its time to join you
But it comes as no surprise
That your pockets are all empty
Ran amok on the supplies

Out there from the gutter crawls
Those hangers with their smiles
Looking for a whiff when
All along they just despise
The poison from the petrol tank
That glint that’s in your eye
But still they take the dance
With the devil by their side

They take the dance with the devil by their side
They take the dance with the devil by their side

You come to me with your ramblings
Words are messing with my head
Looking all distorted
But happy none the less
And I think its time to join you
But it comes as no surprise
That your pockets are all empty
Ran amok on the supplies

The bottle that was balanced
Starts to waver starts to fall
In then creeps the sun
A quick reminder to us all
That the night that was is no more
The dawn is in the frame
No need to panic yet, there’s still
The Guinness and cocaine

You’ve got the cocaine
I’ve got the Guinness on my shoes
You’ve got the cocaine
I’ve got the Guinness on my shoes
You’ve got the cocaine
I’ve got the Guinness on my shoes

Don’t stop the birds have started singing
Don’t stop the birds have started singing
Wont you sing me a lullaby

Stone Cold Killer

She’s a stone cold killer
Beware don’t catch her eye
She’s a stone cold killer
Go where others they have tried

But you would would be so tasty and you would be so nice
Served up with some chicken and a little bit of rice

I’d eat you, but I’d miss you
I guess I’ll have to kiss you, that will have to do

In all my days I have never seen legs that looked so fine
In all my days I have never seen legs that looked so fine
Cheeky nod and flicked her hair
Was that a stare? Looks good to me

She’s a stone cold killer
She’ll catch you in her head
She’s a stone cold killer
Some have tried and so it’s said

But you would would be so tasty and you would be so nice
Served up with some chicken and a little bit of rice

I’d eat you, but I’d miss you
I guess I’ll have to kiss you, that will have to do

In all my days I have never seen legs that looked so fine
In all my days I have never seen legs that looked so fine
Then I nearly had a stoke
Because that blonde was a bloke! Looks bad to me

Bye Bye Baby

Did you hear the glasses breaking
Or the screaming coming up the hall
Must be all away from for the weekend
Would have had a call
Where’s your ring your not wearing it
You know they say that’s a sign
Must be you with your twisted conscience
It's not the first time

You say its left when its right
I never started the fight
You had it coming, no point running
Running won’t help you

I’ve seen the way he looks at you
No sent items on your phone
Two promotions even with your time keeping
Any other would be shown the door
I’ll kiss it better you’ll be fine in the morning
Where’s that stuff you used last time
I’ve got us tickets for a trip to Paris
Dry your eyes the cabs booked for nine

You say its left when its right
I never started the fight
You had it coming, no point running
Running won’t help you

Bye, bye, baby please don’t leave
My legs are numb I’m having trouble breathing
Bye, bye, baby please don’t leave
Its getting dark can you see me, can you see me?

Devil Inside

She’s, yeah, got a devil inside
She, what a mean streak she hides
Am going to take you baby fast as I can
Going to take you away from that freak of a man
She’s wears an angel disguise

Folks keep saying nothing going come out of you
I know you want it; friends keep telling me what you’ve found
Don’t you want to see what you’ve found?

She’s, yeah, got it coming on strong
And have I gone and waited way too long
My heads a spinning with the shit going down
It’s the last chance better take what you’ve found
She’s, yeah, got a devil inside

Folks keep saying that nothing going come out of you
I know you want it; friends keep telling me what you’ve found
Don’t you want to see what you’ve found?

Folks keep saying that nothing going come out of you
I know you want it; friends keep telling me what you’ve found
Don’t you want to see what you’ve found?

Lost Soul

I spent the whole day drinking
Settling all these plans
Wondering if it’s just a phase
Or if things have got that bad

So don’t you try to change it
Don't you go and try to take this path
But I don't think they'll care too much just
Another lost dog trying to settle on a greener patch

Did I get you wondering
Want to pack it up and do the same
Think your folks would have words to say if you
Left it all to play the game

So don’t you try to change it
Don't you go and try to take this path
But I don't think they'll care too much just
Another lost dog trying to settle on a greener patch

But I don't think they'll care too much just
Another lost dog trying settle on a greener

Seems like its been ages mulling over what to do
Sitting in the middle taking grief from a preacher
One of these days he’ll try to fill your shoes

So don’t you try to change it
Don't you go and try to take this path
But I don't think they'll care too much just
Another lost dog trying to settle on a greener patch

But I don't think they'll care too much just
Another lost dog trying to settle on a greener....

Festival

The cooler's packed, won't last that long
Praying for sun to see us on
Traveling in style, four wheels this year
To catch the mates and try the gear

We're heading for a field with 30,000 other kids
Seems like forever since the last time round
Party’s already started there with the other two in the back
The beer is flowing free with a third he’s on his back

Is it me or does it get better every single year
Will make it past midday without drowning in my beer
Heading for the stage or at least started to I think
Ended up with Strongbow - already jinxed.

That poison in my veins
Those pills to ease the pain
I’ve just got to give it up
Who’s going to fill my....
It’s the start of the festival year

We're 6 hours in having the time of hour lives
Haven’t got a worry nor had any strife
Sure I saw a band or was that a poster looked the same
They moving all around is it part of the game

I don’t know where I am I had 6 at last count
Could have been 7. What was I talking about?
Dancing and singing seems strange without the band
As I fall to my knees building castle’s in the sand

That poison in my veins
Those pills to ease the pain
I’ve just got to give it
Who’s going to fill my....
It’s the start of the festival year

Leaving in the rain at least it never spilled on us
Gone another summer next year the tour bus
Bags and cans scattered all around, hell what a mess
This field could tell a story but that’s the end of the fest

That poison in my veins
Those pills to ease the pain
I’ve just got to give it
Who’s going to fill my....
It’s the start of the festival year

Crazy Lisa

Humming, oh she was humming
It started sooner than I thought
Something, oh it was something
So what came next it was a shock

She said ‘Go. Pick up your stuff and go
Get out the door now go, don’t come back
Please just go.’

She said ‘Go. Pick up your stuff and go
Get out the door now go, don’t come back
Please just go.’

Crazy Lisa’s got me scratching at my head what should I do
Crazy Lisa’s got me scratching at my head what should I do
I’m so in love with you

Calling, she started calling
Perhaps she’d given it some thought
Demanding, oh so demanding
Perhaps the penny just dropped

She said ‘Go. Pick up your stuff and go
Get out the door now go, don’t come back
Please just go.’

She said ‘Go. Pick up your stuff and go
Get out the door now go, don’t come back
Please just go.’

Crazy Lisa’s got me scratching at my head what should I do
Crazy Lisa’s got me scratching at my head what should I do
I’m so in love with you
